iPhone 11 Pro. Features, Price, and other Surprises!
Updated: Oct 24, 2019
I have been so excited to see the next set of premium phones that Apple had to offer; and now it is finally here! You guessed it ... the iPhone 11 Pro has officially been released in stores!
In our last post, we marveled over how amazing the iPhone 11 was now its time for the Pro version! I have believed since day 1, that the premium iPhone lineups have always packed a heavy punch. Well this year, the punches dig WAY deeper. Lets not waste any time and jump right into the specs!
iPhone 11 Pro Design
Of course I am already hearing the question "But what is the difference from last years version?", and I have to say that it isn't exactly fair to say that the new phones look identical to the ones from previous years. For starters we have a new frost finish on the back, which feels pretty nice in-hand and also does not attract as many fingerprints and smudges. With the new Midnight Green color, we now have 4 gorgeous options to choose from and also the apple logo has been placed a little lower. While those may be minor details, they still matter a good bit in terms of getting a fresh look.
The iPhone 11 Pro design still sports that notch at the top, lightning port, and two symmetrical speaker grills. We also still have the curved stainless still edges accompanied by 'The Worlds Toughest Glass In A Smartphone". I am definitely impressed with the added protection each year because no one wishes for their premium phone to be anything less than perfect, especially when you paid over $1000 for it.
Underneath that glass, Apple has introduced us to their new Super Retina XDR display. This display is stated to be the brightest/sharpest iPhone display ever. It has up to 1200 nits for your HDR photos and 4K HDR movies, 458 pixels per inch, with a 2,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio. Other features include Wide Color Gamut, Custom OLED, True Tone sensibility, and Haptic Touch which replaces the 3D Touch from the previous years. All of this comes standard on your choice of either a 5.8 or 6.5 inch display; now I don't know about you, but I think that is pretty impressive.
And no I haven't forgotten the biggest design update which is the addition of the 3 rear cameras, but we will touch on that later!
Battery & Performance
This year Apple has graciously blessed us with a big boost in power, which these days you can never get enough of.
The iPhone 11 Pro has a battery that will give you 4 additional hours of run time. The iPhone 11 Pro Max gives you an additional 5. This will give you more time to fall in love with the Super Retina XDR display, the 3 rear cameras, and raise your overall productivity in general.
I know for me, the extra battery life is definitely a plus. My current routine is placing my phone on the charger each night right before bed, but..... it would be nice to have it beside me without choking myself on a charging cable some nights.
As far as performance goes, I am excited to test out the new A13 Bionic chip set. Apple has stated that it is the fastest chip ever in a smartphone. It has an increase of 20% faster CPU and GPU performance which will use 40% less power. This gives us the power we need for our high-performance games while still handling our every day tasks.
There is also an increase in the speed of the 8-core Neural Engine which is known as the driving force behind the new triple camera system. Faster Face-ID? Of course! No need to worry about security, its getting better every year!
Camera and Video
Okay so I know this is the part that you all have been waiting for... The iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max both have some impressive upgrades this year in terms of camera and video features. I would even say that it may just be the main selling point of the Pro line-up this year.
Here are the lists of features for each camera embedded in the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Ultra Wide Camera
13 mm focal length
120 degree field of view
4x more scene
26 mm focal length
Optical Image Stabilization
100% Focus Pixels
New 12MP sensor
52 mm focal length
Optical Image Stabilization
2x optical zoom
Telephoto Camera Wide Camera Ultra Wide Camera
The option of allowing your camera to have a wider field of view, is amazing. It's kind of like stepping back so that you can see whats happening outside of the image frame, but without having to take any steps back. Another thing I love is that you can zoom in between the three camera settings in just one swift motion.
Outside of having the 3 rear cameras, we still have other great features to cover such as Night Mode which lets you take beautiful low-light shots, additional light settings to personalize your pictures in Portrait Mode, and Smart HDR which fine-tunes every detail to give you the perfect professional picture.
AND THAT'S NOT ALL...
Your iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max cameras now allow you to take 4K video not just with the rear cameras, but with the front-facing camera as well! You are able to record your 4K videos while using Extended Dynamic Range and Cinematic Video Stabilization, all while operating at 60 fps.
And for those that just love taking selfies, you can now take 'slofies'. The new 12MP TrueDepth camera lets you take slow-motion selfie videos at 120 fps or shot in 4K at 60 fps.
More Amazing Features
Fast Charge (Up to 50% in only 30 minutes!)
Faster Wi-Fi Speeds
Up to 30 LTE bands
Dual SIM with eSIM support
iOS 13 Software
These features in my opinion, definitely make the iPhone Pro and Pro Max worth the buy. And on that note your question might be: "Well what is the price?". Well let me tell you right now.

In my honest opinion, no matter what the competitor brands are offering or what we see or don't see being released with Apple, the team in Cupertino is definitely showing us the hard work they are tirelessly putting in to bring us the best smartphones each year.
The iPhone, no matter which series or model, has always found a way to bring us new surprises, break new barriers, and exceed our expectations.
